Wetlands
Practical results are the hallmark of SynTerra's wetlands consulting. From delineating wetlands on a small tract of land
to successfully permitting a major wetlands mitigation project, we produce results while avoiding controversy. Our personnel possess
the capability of conducting wetlands inventories in conjunction with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Section 404 Permitting, and other due diligence activities. Rigorous adherence to US Army Corps of Engineers guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures has resulted in projects with regulatory cooperation and mitigation plans that have been well received by reviewers.
Meeting Challenges
Wetlands identification, delineation and mitigation planning are challenging in nearly all settings. SynTerra is proficient at managing the permitting processes and the budget to achieve optimum results. In a permitting program that has become renowned for repeated regulatory submittals, SynTerra has found that open communication with the client's staff and the Corps of Engineers keeps the process on track.
SynTerra's scientists have extensive training and experience in wetlands delineation, which is essential to ensure that an accurate boundary is
established.
Surveying large wetland tracts in remote locations is a significant technical and budgetary challenge. SynTerra utilizes state-of-art global positioning system mapping equipment to locate wetland features even in the heaviest vegetative cover.

For large projects, the US Army Corps of Engineers requires Section 404 Permit Applications to mitigate for adverse affects to wetlands and streams. A successful submittal calls for professional knowledge in many disciplines, including Rosgen analysis and classification of reference streams, hydrology analyses, hydraulics analyses, hydraulic modeling, grading, and monitoring. Dedicated teamwork of SynTerra personnel is key to our success.
Regulatory Compliance
SynTerra personnel maintain regular communication with the regulatory agencies at the Federal, state and local levels. SynTerra delineations are routinely well received and accepted by the Corps of Engineers. SynTerra has gained approval for complex mitigation projects on the basis of thorough, high quality work.
