SynTerra is looking for a qualified Associate Scientist that can offer our clients their expertise. You should have 0-5 years of work experience, preferably with environmental compliance, permit reporting (Air, Wastewater, SPCC, Tier II), project management, and technical writing. This position requires the ability to work independently on specific tasks and in collaboration with clients and other environmental professionals. The position requires the ability to occasionally work in an outdoor environment and to travel locally.

Position snapshot:

  • Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other documents from information obtained from the staff, files, and other sources.

CAD Designer — Lexington, KY

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

Role Overview: A CAD designer’s main job duty is creating drawings and specifications based on equations, calculations and written instructions provided by scientists and engineers. The designer uses CAD drafting skills to draw plans that are easily understood by end users. The job entails fine-tuning and revising plans to meet client requirements.  Designer will adhere to a set of predetermined CAD standards and techniques and works under direction of the engineering or science team to ensure clear representation of design objectives.

  • Prepare dimensional drawings, detailed technical drawings.
  • Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with the project team.

Civil Engineer / Project Manager — Charlotte, NC
Job description:

SynTerra is looking for a Civil Engineer / Project Manager who can demonstrate the capability to work in a collaborative team environment, and independently manage changes and schedules and balance multiple projects simultaneously. The candidate must have substantial experience managing civil engineering projects, preferably with some exposure to consulting and civil engineering site plan development. The candidate must be flexible and thrive in a fast paced, team environment. The candidate would be working within our Site and Economic Development Group in Charlotte, NC or Greenville, SC.

Position snapshot:
  • Coordinate and lead design efforts for civil engineering site plans for site development (Auto CAD) and environmental projects.
  • Operate in a project management role; expected to coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and/or regulatory representatives about project goals, needs, status, etc.
  • Manage projects involving site design, grading, stormwater, erosion and sedimentation control, and more.
  • Participate in business development opportunities (conferences, client events, etc.).

Requirements:

Role Overview: An Entry-Level Civil Engineer’s main role is to assist Project Managers with performing engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing structure and facilities. Role Overview: A Mid-Level Environmental Engineer’s main role is to oversee high-priority projects in collaboration with a Business Unit Leader.
