Job description:

SynTerra is looking for a Civil Engineer / Project Manager who can demonstrate the capability to work in a collaborative team environment, and independently manage changes and schedules and balance multiple projects simultaneously. The candidate must have substantial experience managing civil engineering projects, preferably with some exposure to consulting and civil engineering site plan development. The candidate must be flexible and thrive in a fast paced, team environment. The candidate would be working within our Site and Economic Development Group in Charlotte, NC or Greenville, SC.

Position snapshot:
  • Coordinate and lead design efforts for civil engineering site plans for site development (Auto CAD) and environmental projects.

Role Overview: A Mid-Level Environmental Engineer’s main role is to oversee high-priority projects in collaboration with a Business Unit Leader. CAD Designer - Remote

Role Overview: A CAD designer’s main job duty is creating drawings and specifications based on equations, calculations and written instructions provided by scientists and engineers. The designer uses CAD drafting skills to draw plans that are easily understood by end users. The job entails fine-tuning and revising plans to meet client requirements. We are seeking an experienced environmental Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessor. The position will support multiple clients and projects, with the common theme of characterizing the interactions of organisms (e.g., people, wildlife, fish, invertebrates) and chemicals.   • The Director of Business Development’s work environment involves work primarily indoors with occasional need to work in an outdoor setting. Work environments range from climate controlled office space to areas where dust, noise, and outdoor weather conditions may be present.
  • May sit or stand for several hours at a time and climb inclines (terrains, ladders, etc.).

Project Billing Specialist — Greenville, SC

Role Overview: A Project Billing Specialist’s main role is to facilitate project creation and closing, and preparing invoices in accordance with client requirements. The role is responsible for ensuring that client invoices are processed accurately and timely, and payment is received in a reasonable amount of time.

Responsibilities: (The following is a list of responsibilities of this position, but is not intended to cover all duties that this position may be required to perform from time to time.)

  • Coordinate with internal staff (Project Managers) to oversee the creation and closing of projects in an electronic project management system.
  • Manage the preparation and submitting of client invoices.
  • Ability to work in a detailed electronic project management system.
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Effectively communicate with internal staff and a variety of clients.
  • Perform basic administrative functions including assisting front office support when needed.
  • Comply with all current policies and procedures of SynTerra.
  • Full-Time employees: Available to work 40 hours per week, plus additional hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills/Experience Required:

  • Project invoicing experience preferred.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision or VantagePoint system preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including the ability to operate computerized accounting programs.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Attentive to detail, high degree of accuracy and well organized.
